Obituary of Wayne Blackwell

In Loving Memory of Wayne Blackwell Wayne Blackwell, born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Earl Allen Blackwell and Doretha Madeline Ridgely. Preceded in death by his father, Earl Allen Blackwell (August 2000), and his brother, Mitchell Allan Blackwell (July 1992). Wayne began his education at Grove Park Elementary School before his family relocated to Baltimore County, where he ultimately graduated from Milford Mill High School - Class of 1977. From an early age, Wayne was passionate about athletics, especially football, basketball, and bowling. Those who knew him recognized his competitive spirit and appreciation for sports. After graduating from high school, Wayne enlisted in the United States Army – "This We'll Defend" - serving his country with pride. Through dedication, discipline, and leadership, Wayne rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant, becoming all, that he could be. During his distinguished military career, Wayne served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as well as deployments to Germany and Panama. While stationed in Germany, Wayne continued his lifelong love of athletics by playing football and proudly served on the Color Guard, representing his unit with honor, precision, and discipline. It was also in Germany that Wayne met and married Rhonda Cuffey. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Bianca Michelle Blackwell and Jazmin Lee Blackwell. After retiring from the military in 1992, Wayne and his family settled in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he lived until 1995, when Wayne returned to Baltimore to begin the next chapter of his life, building a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry and serving in a variety of leadership roles across Marketing/Sales, Engineering, and Maintenance. His strong work ethic, dedication, and professionalism earned him the respect of his colleagues throughout his career. Upon returning to Baltimore, Wayne reconnected with an old friend and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Ashley Denise Nicole Blackwell and Angel Shakia Blackwell. Their arrivals were a cherished blessing and a source of great pride and joy in Wayne's life. Wayne, a humble and private man, lived on his own terms, finding peace in simplicity rather than fanfare and preferring a quiet life away from the spotlight. He was known for his calm demeanor and independent spirit. Although reserved, Wayne loved his family and friends. May they forever cherish the memories they shared with him: his loving mother, Doretha Blackwell; his sister, Michele Blackwell; his brother, Michael Warren Blackwell; his four daughters, Bianca Henry, Jazmin, Ashley, and Angel Blackwell; his beloved grandchildren - Alexis Henry, Dominic Henry, and Javon Blackwell; his niece, Sydney Mickai Tullai; his nephew, Michael Wayne Alan Blackwell; his Uncle Vernon Ridgely; his three aunts, Mildred Harden, Doris Williams, and Wahseeola Pajardo; and his long-time girlfriend, Belvin Smith, along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and cherished friends, all of whom will forever hold Wayne's memory close to their hearts. Farewell, Wayne. Until we meet again! You are remembered with love, honored with gratitude, and missed beyond words. Rest in eternal peace.??
