I recently heard of Mrs. Saunders' passing. I had not seen her in years, but I fondly remember her opening her home (then on W. Lafeyette Avenue) to me and so many other children. She was a committed Christian and was a living embodiment of her beliefs. Even though I left Baltimore decades ago, I always remembered her kindness, authenticity, and generosity.
