After losing my mother in 1977 Ma Ellis was the one I went to when I needed a mother’s love and honesty. She gave me advice on how to raise my babies, advice on my marriage, and how to be the best me I could be! If I was getting out of hand with weight she told the honest truth. We all know about her cakes, rolls, holiday and Sunday dinners! Ma Ellis was at my wedding to stand in for my mother! I loved listening to her stories filled with wisdom...she was so wise and highly educated! Looking at all of her children I made her my role model. Through the years I saw her strength when losing all of her babies. She had the faith of Job. In later years I was there to see her fight and hold on for her one and only baby left Barbara. Barbara took care of Ma Ellis like I’ve never seen a daughter love a mother. I pray one of my babies are as dedicated in my time of need as you! I’m here for you when all has been said and done as always Barbara. Love you♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Mrs. Ellis was so wonderful to me and my girls, especially when they were young. Her warmth and generosity are a constant memory of those times. She always had an encouraging word for all of us. She will be greatly missed.
