Obituary of Gloria Brown

Gloria M. Turner Brown was born October 31, 1942 in Buckingham, Virginia to James David and Irene Elizabeth Turner. Gloria departed this life on May 3, 2020 after a long illness. Gloria was Educated in Virginia. She was married to Samuel Brown, from this union were four children, Samuel Brown Jr., Marian E. Brown Worthington, spouse Kenneth E. Worthington, Michelle A. Brown Taylor, spouse Marty Taylor and Michael A. Brown (deceased). Years later Gloria moved to Baltimore Maryland, where she met Larry Wilson, from that union they had one daughter Evette Brown Savage, spouse John W. Savage. Gloria also had a beloved adopted daughter, Drusilla T. Sharpe. Gloria was very outgoing. She enjoyed people and made friends very easily. During her earlier years Gloria worked with her father and brothers in their family owned grocery store businesses. Later Gloria started her own daycare business. She loved taking care of children. She helped raise many of her grandchildren and loved every minute of it. She was a passionate caregiver, her grandkids enjoyed spending time with her and they loved her dearly. Gloria has four sisters, Phyllis A. Randolph, Sheila Y. Turner, Camelia J. Turner, Deborah Kay Turner, four brothers, George A. Turner, Phillip M. Turner, Ronald Turner, Donald Turner. Gloria has a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-inlaw and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her spouse Samuel Brown, her son Michael A. Brown, (twin to Michelle Brown-Taylor), Sister's Lily Turner and Viola Turner, and Brother's James D. Turner and John D. Turner. Gloria loved her family very much, and she loved God Dearly. She faithfully attended church until her health began to fail. She served on the Mother's Board, Ushers Board, and the choir, she filled in wherever she could be of assistance. Many of kids remember her for giving out candy, after church of course. Gloria was instrumental in introducing her family and many others to Christ. She touched so many with her contagious smile and big loving heart. She knew no strangers. Gloria had a heart to help everyone she possibly could. She had the ability to connect with people, regardless of their age or situation, her mission in life was to help others. This is who she truly was. Gloria was nurturing, kind and loving. There were no limits on how far she'd go to help someone in need. She was the epitome of Agape love. She left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her. She will never be forgotten. A private viewing and funeral service will be conducted at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services (4905 York Rd. 21212). Burial will take place at King Memorial Park.
