It is with such sadness that we receive this news.
Shareef will always be remembered by us as being a gentle and friendly young man. Part of our kids' childhood summers was spent playing basketball (or just playing) with Shareef and Destiny when they visited Norwalk.
I am sorry that I didnt get a chance to know him as a man but am not surprised that he grew up to serve his country and his fellow man through his medical vocation.

My godson Shareef! “I’m going with Auntie April” we’re your famous words that melted my heart. The son Your mommy had for me! I remember meeting you and Destiny in Walmart and I feel in love with my Reef! I remember in 2018 you came home to visit your mom for Xmas and you called me and said you were stopping by. Not know I was having a big Xmas you helped me move furniture, clean up, ran to the store to get the items I forgot and even stayed as we partied and played games. Seeing you and spending the day with you was the cherry on my ice cream sundae! You made this the best Christmas ever. I want you to know I’m proud of the man you became and you will forever be in my heart. Till we see each other again. Love you forever and a day.

You gave my son a video game when he was about 6yrs old. It impacted him so much that at 15yrs old he still remembers that and went on an on for twenty minutes about how awesome that game was and how he played it over and over! Your mom said “his purpose was to help and heal and that’s exactly what he did!” You were a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know you. Rest peacefully young man.
