Obituary of Thomas B. Owens,Jr.
Thomas B. Owens Jr. was born on September 1, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to Gladys Ingram and Thomas Owens Sr. He was reared in Baltimore, Maryland where he was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools, upon which he met Sheila Owens, who was the love of his life, and became his wife for over 48 years on December 27, 1963. The union produced four lovely children: Darryl, Thomas III, Michael, and Ursula.
Following in his father's footsteps, Thomas went into the military (Department of the Army) on March 1961 and spent most of his career overseas and traveling abroad. While serving in the Army, Thomas achieved the rank of Master Sergeant.
Thomas was an active member of the masonic organization and joined the William F. Taylor Lodge on November 8, 1990. Thomas achieved his Master Masons on April 19, 1991 and his 32nd degree on April 12, 1993 with the Hiram Consistory #2.
Thomas was a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior. Every morning before getting out of bed, he would read his Bible and Daily Word to begin his day. Thomas also enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, listening to music, spending time with his grandchildren and most of all, making the best out of the time we had together.
He will be deeply missed by all of us, but especially his beloved family and leaves behind an insurmountable amount of memories and love with each and every one of us that we will treasure forever. Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: Son, Michael Owens; Daughter, Ursula Owens (Thomas); Daughter-In-Law, Sandra Owens (Heidelberg, Germany); Grandsons, Thomas Barksdale, Christopher Owens (Heidelberg, Germany), and Michael Owens Jr. (Germany); Sisters, Patricia Cook, Terri Smith; and a host of devoted relatives and friends.
