Obituary of Evelyn W. Givens

It's pleases the Almighty God to call from this earthly Labor to eternal rest in peace, the soul of our beloved one Ms. Evelyn W. Givens. Ms. Evelyn W. Givens, age 84, of Gwynn Oak, transitioned Friday, July 24, 2020 at home in Windsor Mill, MD. Ms. Givens was born January 14, 1936 in Chester, SC to the late Viola Hardin and Laurence Brice. Three of her siblings preceded her in death. Evelyn received her education from Winston Salem, NC, later she married Willie Givens. Evelyn leaves her family not mourning but rejoicing knowing that "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". 2 Corinthians 5:8 The memories of Evelyn will always be present in the hearts of those who she left behind, her sister Ruth Ann Stewart, her children Pricilla Givens-Ball (Connie L. Ball), Willie Eric Givens(Billie Jennings) , Phyllis M. Givens. Grandchildren, Larry Davis, Keisha Tarleton, Kenee Tarleton , Quiana Tarleton, Keon Tarleton, Kenee Tarleton. Lesha Givens, Eltavia Givens, Darryl Givens, Dysahwn Eric Givens and a host of great grandchildren , nieces and nephews. In Spite of everything, she displayed her faith in love for God, her zest for life, devotion to her family, friends and neighbors. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, planting and gardening, interior decorating and especially eating crabs. It was important to her to always keep her neighborhood clean. She touched the lives of so many. Evelyn was a nurturer. She opened her heart and home to anyone who needed a place to stay and to many family members. Evelyn enjoyed family gatherings and shopping. Evelyn never missed a cookout. Evelyn loved to work and was employed at Donns Flooring where she retired from before taking a job at Shoppers Food Warehouse. Momma as we call her definitely has created a legacy for her life and will surely be missed by her family and friends. Viewing hours will be Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD. On Friday, July 31, 2020, Services for, Ms. Givens will be held 12:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD with the family jour beginning at 11:00am. The interment will take place at Loudon Park, Baltimore on Friday, July 31st at 1:45 pm. following services.
