Green was called to his heavenly home on November 14, 2020. Born to the late Evelyn Wedlock (Green) and Elbert Squires in Florence, NC on February 2, 1952, Charlie was most known as a quiet, kind man who devoted his life to his family. Affectionately known as "Sonny Boy", Charlie attended Pamlico Central and High School prior to obtaining his Bachelors' Degree in Engineering from North Carolina State A & T University in 1975. After college, Charlie served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980 as an officer prior to moving North to Maryland to be closer to his mother and siblings. Shortly after arriving to Maryland, Charlie began a career with Giant Foods. He spent 38 years working for Giant retiring in 2019. Charlie was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and Raiders. He loved bowling and photography and was always taking pictures of those he loved at family events. Family was most important to Charlie; he never missed a birthday for anyone and was known for choosing the most heart-felt cards. He baked pies every year for all of his friends and family, always giving, wanting nothing in return. Charlie was a humble man who loved to laugh and support his family. He often cooked large meals, was the designated driver to family reunions, and offered a shoulder to cry on during difficult times. There was never a time that he was called upon that he was not there to help out in any way needed. Charlie leaves behind devoted sisters, Regina Manning, Judy McInnis, Sharon Ushry Daniels and Avis Squires; brothers—Dwight Wedlock, Hampton Wedlock, Barry Wedlock, Cody Ushry Jr., Curtis Ushry; Son-like nephews, Freddy Glover and Mykal Scott along with a host of nieces, nephews including one great niece, Alexiea Perez who he called "the baby". Charlie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ola Green; mother, Evelyn Wedlock (Green); father(s) Hampton Wedlock & Elbert Squires; aunt, Mable Ushry; uncle, Cody Ushry; sister, Lenay Wedlock (Glover); brothers, Christopher and Calvin Ushry.
