I will miss talking to Barbara just about every day. We worked together for many years at Social Security. We had a friendship that have lasted for over thirty years. My prayers are with her family at this time. May God bless you and give you peace.

Psalm 84:10
Better is one day in your courts, than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
She had a big smile on her face the day she welcomed me into the worship service at New Hope Baptist Church. That was 40+ years ago and the rest is history. We served together on the Usher Board and immediately became Sisters in Christ.
Our first and middle names are the same. This is true. We became Barbara 1 and Barbara 2. She was warm hearted, sensitive, affectionate, kind, and a good listener. We cried and laughed together. She loved without limits. We both loved the Lord and always talked about ushering and our family gatherings.
I will miss our many conversations. We never ended a call or discussion without saying I love you.
Barbara and I were members of a special women’s social club called the “Ebonetts”. Barbara served as the business manager while I was the treasurer for more than 20 years.
I thank God for the special bond we shared.
God has called his servant and door keeper home. May you rest in peace my Friend, Barbara.

My cousin Barbara was the glue that connected me to my Baltimore family. On our long telephone conversations, she would explain our family tree and interactions that I couldn't remember because I left Baltimore as a young child. We managed a few visits too! She showed so much love and patience always! Always welcoming and always kind, self content and independent, she expressed so much love for her family! Even going through the challenges of this year, she saw only the blessings around her. I will miss her tremendously, but I will remember this gentle lady with much affection always.

Barbara was a friend, cousin, and pretty much a sister all rolled into one. We have spent many years together with many truly good memories. We have worked together, laughed together, cried together, told each other secrets that will never ever been revealed to anyone else. We were friends, and sisters ( not through blood, but in our hearts) I have wanted to talk to her so many times since she transitioned and then the pain reminder comes to me. I will really miss her, but I will always love her.
