Obituary of Ella Mae Harrison

Ella Mae Jordan Harrison, daughter of Robert Henry Jordan and Ella Jane Hall Jordan, was born February 22, 1929, in Windsor, Virginia. She quietly departed this life on February 16, 2021. God was a significant part of Ella's life. She started her Christian life at Christian Home Baptist Church in Windsor, Virginia. In Baltimore, Maryland, Ella joined her brother Frank's church, where she was a loyal member. Later she settled in at Huber Memorial Church with the same loyalty as until her health began to fall. Ella, as she preferred to called, was the youngest girl in a family of thirteen children, of whom preceded her in death. She received her early education at the Christian Home Church School. She later received her high school diploma at Isle Wight Training School in Virginia. Ella met and married Clifton Milton Harrison. From this union, three sons were born, RoyMilton (Janice), and Keith Michael, both preceded her death. Her son Gregory and his wife Jonnetta were devoted to her until the end of her earthly being. As Ella transitioned into adulthood, she became a hard worker, strong woman, and a proud Afro-American. Earning a certificate as a Nurse's Aid. Ella worked in hospitals in Ohio and Maryland. After her son Keith was born, Ella stopped Nursing to raise her sons. Later she worked at Pixie Sub Shop, where she was loved and adored by many for her big smile and delicious sandwiches. As time passed. Ella seized an opportunity to improve her financial future. She started working at Becton Dickinson and continued working there until she retired at age 65. Ella loved people and life. After retiring, she began volunteering at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Ella decided that Huber Memorial was her home and decided to volunteer there until her health began to fail. The family was important to her. She loved spending time with her sons, their wives, and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and other games with family and friends. Often Ella would invite family and friends over for big cookouts in her backyard. She was a great daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. Ella leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted son, Gregory Mark (Jonnetta), grandchildren, Christopher, Morgan, and Marcellus Harrison, special nieces Jane Denise Jordan and Peggy Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends . A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, from 3:30 - 6:30PM. The celebration of life will be 10:30 AM at Huber Memorial Church, 5700 Loch Raven Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21239. The wake will begin at 10:00 AM. The burial will follow in King Memorial Park following the funeral service
