I meet Charles at SDC and later we were neighbors in Maryland. Charles create a bond with my daughter and called her his God daughter. They developed a great relationship with the help of Diesel (Charles dog at that time). Even prior to his death in February he had a conversation with her on the phone and even with what he was going thru asked for her. I did not get to see you before you left but I am happy we spoke. You will truly be missed.

Memories of Bernie will forever be with me. We have been in each other’s lives since high school. He was my protector when we were at A&T, he always made sure that I had everything that I needed. Then he became my daughters godfather. Even though we didn’t see each other a lot, we talked often, and it always seemed as if we had just been together. When he called me to tell me of his diagnosis my heart started breaking and has not stopped yet. AGGIE PRIDE for ever

Bernie. as I called him, is a sweet and beautiful memory in my heart. He touched my soul, far and near, because of his kind, gentle and warm spirit. Bernie loved and cherished his family immeasurably. For that, I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to share with him the memories of Warren County, Aunt Mattie, his parents, siblings and other family members. I already miss his physical existence but his spiritual existence shall be embedded in my heart forever. There will never be goodbyes for us. I love this lamb of God. Rest in heavenly glory, Bernie.

There are no words to describe the loss. Bernie was such a force that even time and distance could not dim his presence in your life. Even as I grieve I’m left smiling about the many Bernie moments over the years. Rest well, my dear, dear friend. God bless you, my precious family. I love you dearly.
