Dear Lord,
Thank You for blessing us with a beautiful “Mommy”, Bettie Jean Squirewell. It is not by her spirit alone but in the love Mommy bestowed upon us as You so loved her, that we are blessed. She was not just a hearer of the Word but a doer of the Word. She raised her children to know, reverence and to fear You, Oh Lord. Mommy taught us from a very early age that You are our Father, Friend, Provider, Protector and Deliverer. And, in case anyone is wondering? Yes, Jesus said that we can call Him Friend.
Mommy was an example of a true servant who not only talked about Jesus but walked Jesus. Lord, she let Your light so shine from the inside of her to the outside of her in every place she journeyed. Her constant message was, “Get saved.” Like Jesus, she did not want anyone to perish. I can still envision her praying in her prayer closet (the bathroom) for not only herself and her children, but for her neighbors, the church, our entire family, her employers, etc. Mommy constantly and loudly shouted praises unto You. She loved us but she definitely loved You more and rightfully so.
In her final year of Alzheimer’s Mommy could not remembered our names or hers but she never, ever forgot Your name, Jesus. The name above all names. Jesus, she remembered Your name as she sang songs of You as best she could. I find that amazing as in everything You do, Lord God. You have the power to communicate with anyone. Even those whose minds have gone on before the rest of the body.
Thank You God for the time You afforded Bettie Jean Squirewell to be in our lives as not only a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, mother, friend and employee, but as Your faithful servant. I’m so glad to know that her soul is with You, never to return to this earth as it once was, in the shell of a broken body, but as You intended all mankind to be before the biblical fall in the Garden of Eden, whole and without sin. Until that time l look forward to the day when you call me home and You rapture Your children, Your bride, the church unto You. My God, what day of rejoicing that will be.
If you’re someone reading this message and you don’t know Jesus Christ, Who died for our sins so that we may live, ask me about Him. My number is (443) 762-5174. I’m happy to share God’s great news, the good news of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. You haven’t lived until you come to know Jesus. His name is above all names and it is by Him, Him alone, that we have access to the Father God in Heaven. God bless you all.
Thank You Lord God. Peggy
