Lutricia Hunter

Obituary of Lutricia M. Hunter

On Thursday, June 5th, 1969, our lives changed forever. On this beautiful warm spring day, Lutricia Melvina Hunter was born in Salisbury, Maryland. Audrey and Frederick Hunter were thrilled to receive their gift from God. Tricia, as she was affectionately called, was christened at Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville, Maryland as her parents dedicated her life back to our gracious God. In later years, she could often be found accompanying her mother at Arlington Lewin United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Tricia was a graduate of the Carver Vocational Technical High School class of 1987 as an accounting major. Her creative nature led her to explore cosmetology post-graduation at a local beauty school. For several years Tricia worked in retail management at stores including Home Depot, Fashion Cents, Kaybee Toys, Princess Shops, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Fourteen years ago, Tricia gained employment with the United States Postal Service and served there until her health no longer allowed. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crafts, and watching her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. She will be remembered for her delicious rum cakes and specialty muffins. Tricia's favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family, and close friends. She was the official family event planner, and we were blessed by her passion for organizing many memorable family themed functions, of which Christmas was her favorite holiday. We were consistently the recipients of Tricia's warm hearted, generous, loving, and nurturing nature. On October 25th, 2021, God reclaimed our Tricia and reunited her with her dad, Frederick Hunter who preceded her in death on March 6, 2017. We are heartbroken, yet we are grateful for the years we had with her. She leaves incredible memories to her two daughters, Tiana Palmer and Teyah Brown of Catonsville, MD; an undying love to her mother, Audrey Hunter of Ellicott City, MD; a bond that only sisters understand to her only sister, Freda Richards of Hanover, MD; an incredible love to her grandmother, Viola Hunter of Upper Marlboro, MD; an aunties love to her nephews, Bryant (Latoya) Jones, and Joshua Jones, and her niece, Nadja Jones all of Pikesville, MD; a mother's love to her Godson and nephew, Devon Richards of Hanover, MD; and many unforgettable moments to her aunts, Sandra Oliver of Berlin, MD; Sandra (Myron) Thomas of Upper Marlboro, MD; Sally (Jerry) Smith of Owings Mills, MD; her uncle, Bruce (Janine) Showell of Bishopville, MD; and her great aunt, Luetta "Aunt Billie" Showell of Frankford, DE; the secrets, giggles and good times shared with special friends, Tammy Temple of Baltimore, MD, who affectionately called her "Sugar Bear", and Karin Smith of Pikesville, MD who lovingly called her "Lulu"; love and devotion to her cousin Eric Oliver of York, PA, who is like a brother; and her amazing spirit to a host of cousins, friends, co-workers, and all who had the privilege of being touched by her life.
