Obituary of Levi Theophilus Nation
Levi Theophilus Nation, 90, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, after a difficult battle with cancer.
Levi was born on July 17, 1931, the seventeenth child of eighteen children to Mr. Simon & Mrs. Caroline Nation in Darliston, Westmoreland, Jamaica. After Levi's schooling, he worked as a laborer.
In 1950, Levi met Shirley Johnson, and they instantly became inseparable. The two would wed in 1960. Their union produced ten children, six surviving.
Levi immigrated to America in 1970 to pursue a better life for his family. He continued working as a laborer in the United States and was dedicated to God, family, church, and work. After retiring in 1999, Levi spent much of his time helping others and bringing people closer to God in many ways. Levi served God through his unspoken good deeds and acts of kindness to others. One of his favorite activities was handing out business cards that read, "If you meet me and forget me, you have lost nothing. But if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything."
Levi is survived by his wife Shirley Nation, children and in-laws Lloyd & Pamella Honeyghan, Norman & Virginia Nation, Naomi Watson, Theodore Nation, Howard & Donna Kapp, and John & Mary Ann Greenwall. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He leaves behind both his biological and his church families.
