Obituary of Betty Jane Smith

"Precious in the sight of the Lord are the saints who die in Him" and so our precious Betty Jane Smith peacefully fell asleep on February 9, 2022. Betty was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Adelaide and Leroy Miller. Betty, more affectionately know to her loved ones as "Betty Boop," was compassionate, loving, and a strong-willed person especially when it came to her family.
Betty received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System graduating from Douglas High School. She trained as a nurse's aide and worked in various hospitals in Baltimore City. As a young woman, she met and fell in love with Lewis Smith, he was the love of her life. Their Blessed union lasted more than 60 plus years.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age, and for many years she was a faithful member of Falls Road A.M.E. Church. In her latter years she joined Gaines Chapel A.M.E. where she remained until she was called from labor to reward.
Betty will forever remain in the hearts of family and friends. She leaves to cherish in her memory: her Husband, Lewis Smith; Daughters, Fayeangela and Husband, Michael, and Jane; Sons McKinley, Lewis, and Howe; two bonus Daughters, Mary and Christa; Grandchildren, David, Michael, Tiffany, Anthony, Cortina and Husband Deon, Arthur, Brittany, Shardae, Christina, and Husband, Mariques, Howard and Wife, Nicole . 22 Great Grandchildren.;
Sister's in-Love, Michelle, Eddie, Barbara and Shirley; Brothers in-Love, William and Jerome. She was preceded in death by Brother, Howard, Sister-in-Love, Shelia and Sarah; Brothers in-Love Richard, Jr. and Larry. And a
of other relatives and friends.
