Obituary of LaFrance Figueroa

LaFrance Figueroa was born on August 2, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Mertina J. Reed and Walter Tillman. On Monday, March 28, 2022, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gently plucked LaFrance from His beautiful rose garden to enter into eternal rest. LaFrance received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System and she graduated from Dunbar High School. In 1961, LaFrance met and married the love of her life, the late Dionisio Figueroa, Sr., and out of this union one child was born. LaFrance accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and she was a long-time member of Saint Wenceslaus Roman Catholic Church. LaFrance worked as a dietitian at various schools for the Baltimore City Public School System. After 25 years of service, she retired on January 3, 1991. LaFrance enjoyed cooking, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons, Rivera D. Figueroa and the late Michael A. McKay, Jr. She also loved going to the Sight & Sound Theatres, attending church events, and eating out at various restaurants. LaFrance will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, April 7, 2022, in the chapel at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212. The wake will begin at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
