Obituary of Ernest Dargan

Ernest Dargan Sunrise ~ June 11, 1928 Sunset ~ June 13, 2022 Ernest Dargan, son of the late James and Maggie Dargan, was born on June 11, 1928, in Timmonsville, South Carolina. He was the third of their five children and the second of their three sons. Ernest attended the local schools in South Carolina and later took classes after moving to Baltimore, Maryland at the age of ten. As an adult, Ernest was employed for thirty years at Koppers Steel Fabricators Company, and for seven additional years when it transitioned to Environmental Elements Corporation. He met his beloved wife, Elizabeth, in Baltimore; together, they raised their daughter, Latonya. In the early 1980s, Ernest joined what was then known as St. Paul United Methodist Church. Ernest was involved in many organizations and served in several capacities with the church. He happily dedicated his time to making the church comfortable and welcoming for members and visitors alike. He peacefully transitioned to receive his heavenly reward on June 13, 2022. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21229. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, with the wake at 11:00 a.m. and the service at 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul Praise and Worship Center, 501 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208. Masks are required in the sanctuary building unless speaking at the pulpit or eating in the dining room. Interment will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
