Parker was a very special friend to Marion and me. He and his family welcomed us into the neighborhood in 1982. We enjoyed many frank talks and many a laugh.
Memorable times included a ski trip to Canaan Valley, WV where Parker was a determined and valiant first time skier. Alas, after several noble attempts on the bunny slope he threw his skis over his shoulders and trudged off the trail covered with snow but never losing his good humor. He was a strict father who wanted to ensure that his children grew up with respect and independence. He was a true friend in too many ways to recount here.
