Obituary of Gwendolyn Carr Hawkins
Gwendolyn Carr-Hawkins, affectionately known as "Cookie," the daughter of the late James and Thelma Carr was born on August 11, 1959 in Baltimore, MD. She was the fifth of seven siblings. Educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, Cookie was a graduate of the 1977 class of Dunbar High School. After high school Cookie enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Cookie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Addiction Counseling from Sojourner Douglas College. She obtained her certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2011. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A viewing will be held Sunday, April 2, at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm.
The funeral will be held 10:30 am, Monday, April 3, 2023, in the chapel at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services. The wake will begin at 10:00 am.
The burial will follow in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
