Oh, how quickly did a year went by. It seems like Mack just went home yesterday. D'Quan and I went to his resting place today, and took flowers as always. He is missed dearly.
We think about him always,
We talk about him still.
He has never been forgotten,
And he never will.
We hold him close within our hearts,
And there he will remain.
To walk and guide us through our lives,
Until we meet again.

Today, my son D'Quan, my neighbor Cynthia and I visited Mack's grave site and took those flowers. It was lovely out there, blue, clear skies and all. It was a bit emotional for me. It still feels so surreal that he's not here. I miss him dearly. While there, we reminisced about his sense of humor, his laughter and the sound advice he gave when needed. He was an amazing person and we're so happy to have had him in our lives. We'll hold on to the fond memories we have of him. May he continue resting in peace.

Happy heavenly birthday to Mack who would've turned 82 years old today. Even though it's been six months since he departed this life, his presence is still felt. As I go about my busy days, I'm reminded of him in so many ways. whether, It's by the lyrics of a song or by buildings as I travel along. I've heard his voice when I felt lost, I've retained his advice on bridges I may cross. Moments like those he prepared me for. Not having him around has taught me so much more. He truly was the wind beneath my wings. I miss him tremendously, he'll forever be in my heart. May he continue resting in peace.

Today, my son Omari and I went to Garrison Forest Veteran's Cemetery to visit the grave site of our dearly departed friend. Omari was able to pay his respect today, since he was away on duty at the time of Mr. Smith's passing. We even took a bouquet of flowers to adorn his headstone. Today was cold and windy but that did not deter us. It was a pleasure to be there. When it was time to depart it was bittersweet. Nevertheless, I will return as often as I can. May he continue resting in peace. He'll forever be in our hearts.

It's been three months since my dear friend gained his wings. It hurts just like it happened yesterday. I will forever cherish the memories I have of him. I will never forget the knowledge and lessons he bestowed on me. Time will help to ease the burden of my loss. May he continue resting in peace.
