Obituary of Vicky Lynn Smith

Vicky was born June 11, 1948 to Robert and Loretta Watty. Vicky attended school in Baltimore City and then later went on to graduate from Morgan State University. Vicky was a spirited entrepreneur who did not have a job she did not like. Vicky was a substance abuse counselor and a daycare owner who then switched to the hair and fashion world. She not only made clothes she became a manicurist and later opened up a nail salon that later turned into a full-service beauty and nail salon. Vicky loved doing nails so much that she started teaching her craft at a school in Laurel Maryland. Vicky later taught a nail class at the Edmondson Westside Skill center to adults in the evenings. As time went on Vicky was blessed with 4 grandchildren. She would take her grandkids on trips downtown to the Inner Habor and the Science Center and also to church making sure that they were grounded in some type of religion. In 1995 Vicky had a stroke which cause her to be disabled and unable to do the things she once enjoyed but she never let her disability steal her joy for life. Vicky leaves to mourn her sister Cynthia Watty-Boyd and 2 children Samuel Smith Jr. (Wife Sharon) and Sharon Smith-Oliver (husband Darrick), Vicky's grandchildren London, Gregory, Shalia, Dereck, LaDonna, Reva, Dedric, and Keysha and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends to celebrate her life. She will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her son Sean, her parents, and her 3 brothers Rodney, Robert & Anthony. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133. On Saturday, January 20, 2024, the family of Ms. Vicky L. Smith will celebrate her life at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 2130 Woodlawn Drive, where she will be laid to rest following a graveside service at 11:00 a.m.
