Mr. Wright was my amazing supervisor at Jentry McDonald. He taught me so much about being a Social Worker. I will never forget his kindness, and willingness to always help, teach, coach, and just listen.
He was a Wonderful Man.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of a giant., model citizen, and my friend, Wendell Wright, Please accept my sincere condolences. He will be missed for his was a life well and, more important, usefully lived; during his life's journey, he touched, to their advantage, countless many, especially the young, whom he saw, rightly, as our bright future. He will be remembered, by them, his family and those of us who were privileged to know him, for that and as an example of what is possible and necessary for the achievement of "the more perfect union,” with which we have been tasked with pursuing. In addition to offering whatever assistance you might need and that I am able to provide, I commend to you, Wendell's family, “A Parable of Immortality,” by Henry Van Dyke, which puts death and remembrance in perspective:
"I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze, and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to meet and mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, 'There! She’s gone!' Gone where? Gone from my sight — that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of her destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, 'There! She’s gone!' there are other eyes watching her coming; and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: 'There she comes!'
And that is — 'dying.”'
