Obituary of Lois Naylor

Lois Beatrice Honemond Naylor departed this life on October 19, 2024. She was born on November 17, 1931, in Sellman (Dickerson) Maryland to the late Wilhelmenia Payne and Fletcher Copeland Honemond. She was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System. When she moved to Washington, DC, she received Christ and was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington DC. When she married Arthur Naylor they moved to Baltimore, along with her daughter, Mable Honemond. Lois later received her AA degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus. For many years Lois worked in the Food Service Industry in Washington, DC, developing her outstanding cooking skills and out of this world Thanksgiving dinners. On December 19, 1966, Lois changed her career and became a Federal Employee at Social Security Administration in Baltimore Maryland. She had a long career with Social Security and achieved several advancements and was a model employee until she retired. Lois had a deep abiding love for her family and especially for Mable Honemond, her only child who went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2023. Lois leaves behind her nieces Julia Wilkins, Sharon Adebisi, Gloria Taylor, Patricia Lee and Wanda Moore and nephews Donald Payne and Fletcher Honemond, her best friend Jestine Dates and a host of extended family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Naylor, daughter Mable Honemond, and 6 siblings. At the age of 92 Lois started her new life and we are so grateful that God shared her with us for such a long time. The family viewing will be at Vaughn Green Funeral Services on November 9th from 10-10:30AM. Interment will follow at Maryland National Memorial Park 1330 Washington Boulevard Laurel MD 20810 at 11:30AM.
